Madrid and Seville are two of Spain’s most ventured to cities – and for good reason, of course! Each with its own special characteristics offering its own version of Spanish culture. With the high-speed rail network in Spain, travelers don’t have to choose to visit one city or the other, it is easy to see both – even in the same day!

There are frequent (and numerous) departures daily from Madrid to Seville aboard the country’s well-known AVE train. The travel time is just under 2½ hours and you depart and arrive into the center of each city. The train from Madrid departs the Madrid Puerta de Atocha station and arrives into the Seville Santa Justa station. So basically, enjoy breakfast in Madrid, head to Seville for some afternoon tapas, and be back in Madrid for dinner and possibly a Flamenco show!

Train tickets for Madrid to Seville start at $70 per person (inclusive of ticket & reservation). You can also choose to travel this route using a Eurail Spain Pass to travel on this route – please note that reservations are required on AVE trains and are an additional cost.
