London is such a wonderful city, full of culture, history and character, you could easily spend a week or more here. But, with London’s location, it’s also very easy to take day-trips from. One exciting trip to take would be traveling from London to Glasgow by train. Technically speaking, that’s visiting 2 countries, on 1 train, in a little over 4 hours.

Trains from London to Glasgow depart from the London Euston Station and arrive into Glasgow Central – right in the center of the city. Travel on this route is done in comfort on one of Britain’s premier high speed Virgin trains, offering first and second class seating. Total travel time is about 4½ hours and there are frequent departures during the day. Prices for this route start at $80 per person.

You could also hop on this train using your BritRail Pass, offered in first or second class and discounts for children/youth & senior travelers. In addition, a saver pass option is available for 3 or more adults traveling together at all times.

Please note that there are two departures hourly for this route, the earlier departure is faster than the later one each hour.

Things to See & Do in London

There is so much to see and do in London, it’s hard to say where to start! If you’re up for some sightseeing on your own, we suggest getting a London Travel Card or Visitor Oyster Card to help you get from one side of the city to the other. Points of interest are St. Paul’s Cathedral, Trafalgar Square, Big Ben & the Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey and of course, Buckingham Palace – the Royal Residence!
